African Journal of Theology and Religion (AJOTRE) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that provides a platform for scholars in all areas of theology and religion to share their scholarship through research. The main objective of the journal is to provide original research in the areas of theology and religion for the work of redemption. The journal is released biannually, June and December.

AJOTRE publishes scholarly research in all areas of theology and religion which include:

  • Systematic Theology
  • Practical Theology
  • Church History
  • Missiology
  • Chaplaincy

AJOTRE affirms that Holy Scripture is the normative source for theological enquiry and also endorses the use of biblical-historical-grammatical method for the interpretation of Scripture.

Copyright

Upon successful publication of the issue, the author will have mandate to hold the copyright without limitations and allow the journal declare itself as the original publisher and use the material for any other scholarly and lawful purposes

Journal Policies

AJOTRE accepts manuscripts based on the following standards:

  • Appropriateness of the subject matter and its compliance to the scope of the journal
  • Theological soundness and timeliness of the information
  • Current sources (less than ten years from the date of publication) unless the research focuses on historical theology that requires ancient materials
  • Compliance with the use of biblical-historical-grammatical methods of biblical interpretation
  • Manuscript has less than 13% of similarity in plagiarism test (Turnitin)
  • To maintain academic quality through pre-review process, the journal releases not more than ten (10) articles per one issue
